Allama Dr. Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, Nazim-e-Ala Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan and Spokesperson of Muttahida Madaris Council Pakistan, has welcomed the approval of the Madaris Bill by the Punjab Assembly, describing it as an important and positive development for religious seminaries in the province.

He paid tribute to Major General Dr. Ghulam Qamar, Director General Religious Education (DGRE), his team, the Muttahida Madaris Council Pakistan, and the leadership of religious educational institutions for their sincere and sustained efforts toward addressing the registration-related concerns of Madaris.

A significant provision of the approved legislation recognizes Madaris already registered with the Directorate General of Religious Education (DGRE) as registered institutions in Punjab, thereby exempting them from the requirement of undergoing a separate registration process at the provincial level.

Allama Dr. Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri termed this provision a major step toward simplifying the administrative framework for religious seminaries and reducing unnecessary duplication in the registration process. He appreciated the collective efforts of all stakeholders who contributed to achieving progress on this longstanding issue.

The development is expected to strengthen coordination between religious educational institutions and government authorities while facilitating a more streamlined and effective registration system for Madaris in Punjab.
